Girls Camp!

Last Tuesday I woke up at 5, got ready, and went to the Dixon's at 6.
Stopped at Mcdonalds for a breakfast that made me feel gross
and traveled for 2 hours.
We got to Shalom and set up.
Our cabin was pretty dang cute!

I knew we were gonna have bad luck as soon as my cool water bottle broke.
The rest of the girls got here and we did all the fun stuff planned, like waterfront, volleyball, and confidence courses.
This was a failed attempt at making OHS, since that is clearly not a S!
Then at the flag ceremony we saw smoke comin over the mountain
but we were like no worries!

But then the Sheriff came and we thought we were gonna have to leave because of the fire.
So we hurry and got in a group picture! We are all so cute in our sweaters!
 We were sad to go.
But then the Sheriff told us we would be alright! So we were happy again!

Smoke was still coming strong but we would be fine.

 Life was good.
Until I woke up the next morning at 5:30 to someone telling us to pack up, we were going home!
This was what I was feeling right then.
 Not. pretty.
The girls all had to hurry and pack and get on the buses, and us leaders had to pack up for the second time in less than 24 hours. But we did get pop tarts and hot chocolate!

 Good bye Camp Shalom!
Then the car started smoking! Lets just say something was trying to tell us something!
We got home finally, and we got to shower. Then we planned what to do. We were this close to going to Bear Lake (which would have been amazing!) but then we were told to go stay in someones backyard. It was really pretty, and the Provo River was right behind us!
 We got to unpack again!

It turned out to be really fun, and we actually got to have a campfire! (This year at Camp Shalom we weren't allowed to have one)
we did hair wraps, and crafts, and sang around the campfire!
and I found out a way to put your hair in a bun thats even easier than a sock bun!
On Thursday we got to go boating!!!
While waiting we played Just Dance 2.

and there was more smoke! I think we just attract it or something...

I didn't actually get in the speed boat, but that was ok with me. Dempsey actually pushed me in the water, so I did get a little wet!
Did I mention we had to use Porta Pottys the whole time? Yep.
Then some of the girls played in the river.

I hope I don't always look like this taking pictures! haha
It was a really big backyard. The sixth ward and our ward was able to stay back there in tents and stuff.
Actually my ward slept under the stars, and I don't think I've ever slept so soundly. It was so nice!
The Siebert's did ALL of the crafts. They are way talented.
We got to do our skits with the Sixth ward too! We put ours together in 5 minutes so it was... interesting.

Oh Courtney. We love her! haha

On Saturday we walked to the 3rd/4th pavilion (that was our hike)
and joined the rest of the stake. Most of the other wards just had a sleepover for only one night and then went home, so I'm happy our ward actually got to spend the week together.
It was definitely a different experience for girls camp.
